Family Mediation Services

Professional mediation services tailored to your family's needs.

MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting)

This meeting is the first step to assess whether mediation is suitable, and to discuss the mediation process as well as other options. For family court applications you are required to attend a MIAM, and the mediator will be able to evidence this if you are making an application to court.

MIAM certificates - If mediation is not appropriate for your situation, or you decide not to proceed, we can provide the necessary documentation to confirm your attendance at a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM). These forms—often referred to as MIAM certificates—may be required by the court before certain applications can be made, such as C100, Form A, FM1. We will ensure this is completed promptly and sensitively, so you can take the next steps with clarity and confidence.

Duration: 45 minutes

Required: to assess suitability for mediation

Outcome:

  • Invitation to another participant for their MIAM
  • Option to book joint mediation if both clients proceed
  • Relevant court form provided to evidence attendance

Joint Mediation Sessions

Our core service helps families navigate difficult conversations about arrangements, finances, property division, and future planning. We provide a neutral, confidential space where both particiapnts can express their viewpoints and work towards achieving mutually acceptable solutions.

Duration: 90 minutes per session

Suitable for: clients who have both attended a MIAM and have agreed to proceed

Outcomes: Outcome summaries
Open financial statement of information
MOU (Memorandum of Understanding)

Child-Inclusive Mediation

Where appropriate, for children who are of an age where they can express their views and wishes, we can arrange a confidential meeting for your child to have their voice heard. Please note, both parents and the child(ren) must consent to this.

Duration: Up to an hour but the process is child-led

Focus: Whatever the child wishes to discuss

Outcome: Feedback for parents at the child's discretion
